About Dublin

Without doubt Dublin is a vibrant city with much to offer everybody who visits. The city is easy to navigate on foot and for everybody who is prepared to wander off the beaten track, is very rewarding. Ireland has always had a famous pub culture, and Dublin is no differant. If you are looking for a place to enjoy a few pints of the 'black stuff' you will more than likely find yourself in Temple Bar at some stage. Other areas that are ideal for nightlife are Grafton Street and Harcourt Street.

One of the most recent additions to the cityscape of Dublin is the Dublin Spire which was erected between December 2002 and January 2003. The Spire stands 120 meters tall and tapers from a base of 3m to 15cm at the top. The stainless steel reflects the atmosphere and light in the city as darkness turns to light, and back to darkness. As you walk up Henry Street towards O’Connell Street, the Spire really stands out in contract to the low rise architecture around.

If you enjoy shopping, Dublin is the place for you. There are a number of large shopping centres around the suburbs of Dublin including The Square, Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Liffey Valley and Dundrum Town Centre. Dundrum Town Centre is easily accessible from Dublin City Centre by Luas and is well worth a visit.
